Even during my pregnancy, I knew I wouldn't just be pushing a stroller, but also wanted to be a babywearing mom. We bought our first woven Didymos family wrap, but despite the fairly well-written instructions, we just couldn't figure it out. Looking at the photos now, we realize we did pretty much everything wrong that you could possibly do wrong. We didn't realize it at the time, though; we were just surprised by how uncomfortable a wrap really is. I put the wrap aside, unused, and started looking for an alternative. I definitely still wanted to carry my baby! My attempt to buy one at a baby store was disappointing, as they hadn't even heard of ergonomic baby carriers. Other parents recommended a baby carrier, but it wasn't available anywhere. As webmaster of our parents' forum, parents asked me to sell them. This was the beinning of loeweli in 2004.

We love being out and about with parents. It's not uncommon for someone to approach you on the street while you're carrying your baby. We have a keen eye for how things can be improved when tying a wrap or putting on a baby carrier. The greatest reward is seeing the sparkle in parents' eyes when everything is so wonderfully comfortable and fits perfectly. And when we meet parents whose wrap or carrier tying is just right, we're always happy to offer our praise. Yes, walking past parents carrying their babies without a word just doesn't work. The most wonderful encounters are always the spontaneous ones.

To provide daily support and advice to parents, the loeweli babywearing shop was opened in 2008. Unfortunately, we learned that it's not so easy to juggle family and so much work. With heavy hearts, we closed the shop and are now back to being spontaneous.

We offer babywearing classes and you can find us at festivals. To ensure our advice is based on sound knowledge, each of our employees has completed training in babywearing consultation. Furthermore, the entire loeweli team has also completed the training to become certified partners of the Dresden Babywearing School.
